They provide the lessons or you can choose to do their Free Talk
Pay: adults – $10.20 per class. Cambly kids – $12.00 per class
They have lessons all day, but their peak hours are early in the morning for American teachers.
No degree or experience is required, but Cambly Kids does have a few extra requirements.
There鈥檚 no minimum hours you need to commit to per week or month.
No, you don鈥檛 need to speak another language. They prefer you to stick to English 馃挏

They provide the lessons for you!
Pay: $7.50-$13+ with LOTS of room for bonuses
Their peak hours are in the Central European time zone so for American teachers they are: 9:00AM – 3:30PM EST or 10:00AM – 4:30PM EST depending on the time change.
They ask for 1 year experience but you can often claim your experience as as a mom!
They want you to commit to teaching 2 courses with them. It鈥檚 usually 1-2 classes a week for 15-16 weeks or about 1 semester.
No, you don鈥檛 need to speak another language. They prefer you to stick to English 馃挏

They provide the lessons for you!
Pay: $7.00-$13 with room for bonuses and pay raises with completed classes.
Their peak hours are in the Latin American time zone. The peak times for American teachers are: 4:00PM – 11:00 PM EST
If you don鈥檛 have a degree, Open English asks you to have your TESOL certificate. It鈥檚 a quick and easy online certification that shows you how to teach ESL. If you have a degree you don鈥檛 need it! AND the degree does NOT have to be in education.
They want you to commit to teaching 10 hours a week, but 4 of those hours must be during the peak times I mentioned above.
The best part is Open English is very flexible with teacher cancellations. You won鈥檛 be monetarily penalized for canceling! Great for a SAHM learning the ropes of teaching online and trying to find the right schedule that works with her family.

Starkid is a new company, but the Online ESL world is very excited about them!
Their students are students based primarily in Mainland China.
Peak Hours are from 5 AM – 9 AM EST depending on the time change. I know these hours seem AWFUL, but it’s where I got my Online ESL start! It can be helpful because your children are likely still asleep leaving you to work in peace.
Starkid doesn’t require any minimum hours – work as much or as little as you want!
The lessons are provided for you AND they don’t require feedback after class.
The pay isn’t completely clear but it looks like they pay $20-$25 an hour. This is why Online ESL teachers are so excited about Starkid!
However, Starkid DOES require their Online ESL teachers to have a degree. The degree DOES NOT have to be in Education – so if you have any degree, apply!

Best Online ESL Jobs for Stay at Home Moms with no experience is VIPKid Global.
VIPKid is where I got my start as an online ESL teacher so it holds a special place in my heart 馃挏
VIPKid became VIPKid Global in 2021 after laws in China changed. Their primary clientele was students in mainland China, but the new laws said their students couldn’t take classes with foreign teachers (us).
Pay for VIPKid Global is about $14 an hour but they’re tier-based meaning the more classes you complete in a month, the more you get paid.
Even though VIPKid Global is still working to expand globally, their peak hours are still Beijing hours – early in the morning for American Online Teachers! Depending on the time change the peak hours are from 5-9 AM EST.
VIPKid creates the lessons for you so there’s no extra prep once you learn the lesson format.
They’re not ALWAYS hiring anymore so you have to keep an eye on this one.
However, they do require a degree. The degree DOES NOT have to be in education. So if you’re a stay at home mom with a degree in anything, you can apply!
